Springfield School Catchment Area Further Information for Confirmed In-Year Transfers Open Evening 2025 (Year 5 and 6) Our 2025 Open Evening will be held on Thursday, 25 September 2025 (further details and tickets will be available at the end of the summer term). Our Open Evening is undoubtedly the best way in which to find out more about the opportunities that Springfield has to offer. However, there are also a number of short films about the school available on the homepage of our website which you can enjoy watching with your child; we suggest that you watch these prior to your visit. We hope these will give you an insight into the extremely positive learning environment that we have at Springfield and encourage you to make Springfield your first choice. (Kindly note that the impressive refurbishment of our Science Block is now complete!)
Admissions Service
Admission to the school is managed by the Admissions Service of Portsmouth City Council, which is required to take part in a cross-border co-ordinated scheme for main round admissions. This allows parents to complete one application form from their home local authority, regardless of the school and the area in which they wish to apply for a place. This is known as a ‘Common Application Form’. Please contact the Admissions Service directly for information regarding applying for a place at Springfield. Admissions Service Email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. Portsmouth operates an ‘Equal Preference’ admissions scheme in line with government requirements. If the school is oversubscribed, applications will be considered first according to the following priorities in the order set out below:
If the school cannot admit all applications from the catchment area, priorities (as defined in the Portsmouth City Council Admissions Policy) will be used.
