Girl With Child in Africa

Reporting Absence

If your child is unwell and unable to attend school, please telephone the school’s Attendance Assistant on 023 92 711808 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. as soon as possible.

Leave of Absence

The school’s Attendance Policy does not authorise absence during term time for holiday or ‘family time’. However, term time absence may be authorised in exceptional circumstances.  Leave of Absence for sporting activities and performances should be accompanied by a letter from the organising body. Parents wishing to apply for leave of absence during term time should complete a leave of absence form (‘LOAF’) and submit the completed form to the Headteacher in good time.

Medical Appointments and Illness

  • llness: If you are unsure whether to send your child to school when they are unwell, either physically or mentally the NHS ‘Is my child too ill for school?’ guidance has further information that we hope will be of help.

  • Medical appointments: if your child has a medical appointment that cannot be scheduled outside school hours, please notify us in advance. We ask that any appointments are made in the afternoon in order to minimise the amount of school time missed. Evidence of medical appointments will be required to authorise these absences such as an appointment card or confirmation text message.
