Welcome to the Year 6/7 Transition section of our website.

My name is Mr Peachment and I am the Head of Achievement for Year 7.  It is a pleasure to support our pupils, alongside Ms Holbrook, as they make the transition into Year 7.  Year 7 is an incredibly important year, as pupils come together into our community and get to know each other and the school.

We have a fantastic, thorough transition programme that starts from the moment your child is allocated their place in Year 6 and continues until the end of Year 7.  The transition programme focuses on pupils developing their confidence, building relationships with key colleagues in school and eventually with the peers in their tutor group. Our core themes of 'Ready, Respectful, Safe' are at the centre of everything we do.

For parents, there will be opportunities to attend 'Meet the Tutor' events and online Subject Parents' Evenings, from which you will receive information around your child’s progress and guidance on how to support them in their learning. I look forward to supporting your child on this next exciting part of their educational journey.  Good partnership and communications remain key, so please do not hesitate to contact your child's tutor using This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..net to raise any questions, concerns or issues.

We look forward to welcoming Year 6 transition pupils to our induction days on Monday, 30 June and Tuesday, 1 July.  Pupils should arrive via our Central Road entrance from 8.20am ready for a prompt 8.35am start where they will be met and directed at Scholars Walk by Springfield School staff and pupil Tutor Group Assistants.  We also look forward to welcoming parents/carers to the school on Thursday, 3 July for the 'Meet The Tutor' event (details of allotted time slots for this will be sent to parents/carers).
