Today has been an exciting day at Springfield as we have been able to open our doors once again to our Year 10 pupils. It was fantastic to welcome them back to the school and observe them getting back to work again in their 'pods' (a class of no more than 15 pupils in a designated and 'socially distanced' classroom!). Following Government guidelines, only a quarter of the Year 10 cohort can attend on any one day; so our Year 10 pupils are getting back to school on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday for some much needed face to face time with the teachers. At other times, remote GCSE work is being set for them to complete independently. Today, 88% of the eligible Year 10 pupils have attended their teaching session. Pupils commented that while it was a little daunting coming back for the first time - and seeing new signage, one way systems and outdoor sinks in operation - they really valued seeing friends and staff. Well done Year 10!
