Dear Parents/Carers

You will recall from previous editions of Springfield News that the school recently received a grant from the DfE's Condition Improvement Fund for essential works to A Block.  A Block houses the Science department and is at the front of the school; the work involves replacing all of the windows and exterior cladding.

Works will be starting on Monday 10th February, which will include preparations for the installation of four temporary classrooms.  As a result of this, please note that the car park at the front of the school (Central Road entrance) will be closed to all visitors until September 2020.    Blue badge holders and parents collecting children with SEND should be able to access the disabled parking bay in front of Reception, but we advise taking extra care as there will be Contractors and their vehicles working on site.

The pedestrian entrance will remain open and the site will be fenced off appropriately as the works progress. Staff have advised pupils to take extra care and to stay well away from the works, and we would be grateful if you would reinforce these messages to your child.

During the works, classes that would have been in A Block will be relocated to other classrooms, including four temporary rooms which will be fitted out as basic laboratories to support the Science curriculum.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation in support of this improvement to the school.
