In connection with National Mental Health Awareness week students in each House are enjoying assemblies delivered by UNLOC, a charity dedicated to supporting people with mental health issues. House members are receiving informative talks on different types of mental illness and hearings stories of well known people who have suffered. The UNLOC staff are also sharing many useful links to agencies which support anyone facing the challenges of mental health. In school we are fortunate to have close working links with CAMHS and NHS school based nurses. We have also recently submitted a bid to have Mental Health Support workers in school (check out Springfield News for outcomes). Thank you to UNLOC for taking the time to speak with our pupils this week.  Form tutors will be following up the assemblies with tutor based discussions.
