Some of our Year 11 students took part in a two-day qualification programme on Thursday, 19 and Friday, 20 March, earning their Level 1 Award in Personal Skills and Finance. The course, delivered by Money Ready provided an engaging and practical introduction (closely mapped to the National Curriculum) to essential financial topics designed to prepare students for life beyond school.
Throughout the two days, students explored key areas including understanding money, budgeting, banking, spending, borrowing, and saving. Each session combined interactive discussions with real-world examples, helping students develop the confidence and knowledge needed to become financially astute.
The qualification aimed to build financial awareness and independence, ensures students are well equipped to manage their personal finances responsibly as they move into further education, apprenticeships, or employment.
Teachers praised the programme for its relevance and impact, noting how it encouraged students to think critically about money management and future financial planning. Students also expressed appreciation for the opportunity to gain practical skills that will benefit them throughout their lives.
A special thank you goes to Money Ready for delivering such an informative and empowering course, helping young people take their first steps toward financial confidence and independence.
