The Year 10 Boys’ Football Team took a massive step towards silverware on Tuesday, 10 March, delivering a dominant performance against Purbrook School in the Hampshire Cup semi-final. In a display of clinical finishing and determination, the team secured a 6-0 victory, booking their spot in the Final!
From the first whistle, the boys dictated the tempo, moving the ball with confidence and keeping Purbrook on the backfoot. The breakthrough came within the first 15 minutes following a good passage of play down the right hand side. A good cross found George M, who snuck in front of the defender to give the team a well-deserved 1-0 lead.
Rather than sitting back on their lead, the team maintained a high-intensity press. They remained on the front foot for the duration of the match and dominated the play. Their hard work and perseverance paid off, as the goals continued to flow, resulting in a commanding 6-0 scoreline by the final whistle. What a result!
This victory is more than just a semi-final win; it is the culmination of years of hard work. This group of players has been vocal about their ambition to reach the Hampshire Cup Final since they first joined the school in Year 7 and it's now within their reach. Good work boys!
