The KS4 football team produced a memorable performance in the Portsmouth Cup Final on Wednesday, 06 March, securing a commanding 4–0 victory to lift the trophy for another year running. The match began with a period of uncertainty, as the team found it difficult to settle into their rhythm against well‑organised opposition. However, a thoughtful change of formation midway through the first half proved decisive. From that moment, the players grew in confidence, controlled possession, and began to impose their style of play.
The breakthrough came courtesy of Millie Thomas, who delivered an outstanding individual display. Sophie George added a second goal in the second half, calmly converting after a well‑worked team move. Her movement, composure, and finishing ability saw her complete a superb hat‑trick, each goal demonstrating a different aspect of her attacking quality.
Beyond the goals, the squad showed excellent teamwork, discipline, and determination. Every player contributed to a performance that reflected both their hard work throughout the season and their ability to adapt under pressure. It was a thoroughly deserved victory and a proud moment for the school.
