Year 8 Design and Technology students have been making waves with their innovative use of Tinkercad to design custom fidget spinners this term. Students were tasked with designing their fidget spinners from scratch, allowing their imaginations to run wild. Utilising Tinkercad, a user-friendly 3D design tool, they have brought their ideas to life, showcasing sleek, high-speed shapes alongside adventurous and delicate custom builds. This exercise has encouraged students to think outside the box and express their individual artistic visions.
As students worked through the design process, they encountered and overcome challenges, honed their ability to think critically and adapted to new situations. Watching their designs take shape on the 3D printers has been a great experience as well as giving them the opportunity to gain practical experience with cutting-edge technology, preparing them for future educational and career opportunities in fields such as engineering, design, and technology.
Congratulations to the Year 8 students for creating such fantastic prototypes! Your hard work and creativity shine brightly, and the skills you have gained will undoubtedly serve you well in the future. Keep spinning your ideas into reality!
