On Thursday, 22 January, a group of Year 8 students visited the Living Rainforest to observe the characteristics of this unique biome first hand. Students enjoyed a workshop on sustainability, when they found about the impacts of humans on the biodiversity of the rainforest. Groups then had time to explore the venue and looked at the various plants and animals housed there. We ran three competitions whilst there, one for being the first to complete a wordsearch made up of many key terms for this topic, another for the best photograph of the day and finally the best completed work booklet. Well done to Jasper W, William S and Alisha A for their great efforts. We would also like to extend out thanks to all of the students who attended as their effort and behaviour throughout the day was impeccable. We hope they enjoyed the day and that it helps with their upcoming lessons and assessment.
