Year 8 students were thinking ambitiously about their future during a Super Careers Focus Day on Monday, 26 January 2026. Students attended a number of different sessions throughout the day which explored a variety of careers options, they work on their teambuilding skills, looked at college options or whether an apprenticeship may be more suited to them as well as exploring what a course at university might look like.

This Focus Day is especially important as Year 8 approach the time when they decide on their option choices. After this interactive day they should be able to connect subjects to real jobs, learn the importance of teamwork, challenge stereotypes, as well as having clarification on the vocational and academic split. This immersive learning experience equips students with confidence in making decisions that are best for their personal development as well as how to interact with people from the business and education industries.

A huge thank you to EBP South Limited for overseeing the event and bringing the huge selection of businesses and educational institutions to the school including City of Portsmouth College, the University of Portsmouth, Colas, Zest, NCC Group, Volker Fitzpatrick, Balfour Beatty, Terra Firma and BMT.
