On Wednesday, 7 January 2026 Springfield welcomed guest speaker Lawrence Tijjani to pass on powerful messages about resilience to our Year 11 students. Lawrence invited us to consider how we all 'fail' at times but what defines us is using setbacks as the foundation for a comeback. He shared some of his own journey, including a disadvantaged childhood, a tricky time at school attaining just two GCSEs and a severe epilepsy diagnosis and emphasised how he managed to turn his life around. Lawrence's messages of striving for success and not allowing your starting point to dictate your outcomes  are very useful for Year 11 students as they strive for success this year and beyond.
