We are thrilled that Springfield was selected for a visit by the BBC Bitesize Careers tour on the last day of this half term (Friday, 24 October 2025). Radio 1 Extra Presenter, Fee Mak, chaired the event and brought plenty of energy as she introduced three local employers. Hannah Wrigley works at Climax Studios in the video games industry as an Associate Producer. Students were shown clips of games she has been involved in making and heard about her journey from games tester to managing teams in the UK and America in the creative process. Georgia Godwin is a technician working in biomedical sciences at Spire Healthcare. Georgia shared her work with us and explained how the tests run in her lab help a patient's journey. Tom Murray is a BBC Radio Presenter and commentates on sport for BBC Radio Solent. The panel shared their experience through education and work and answered questions, both within the session and afterwards with those who wanted a follow up conversation. M.P. for Portsmouth North , Amanda Martin joined us this morning as a guest visitor. BBC Bitesize Careers were incredibly generous with their time and students really enjoyed the show.
