On 11 June, we welcomed Faith Mahoney from the organisation Unloc, who ran a leadership workshop. This focused on skills that could be useful both in school and in the future, such as teamwork, effective project planning, communication and public speaking. Towards the end of the session, pupils were encouraged to explore ways in which the school could change for the better and deliver a presentation on their ideas.
Feedback on the day from the pupils included:
  • "It was very fun and confidence boosting."
  • "This event was very fun and gave us lots of activities that I enjoyed doing with my friends/group."
  • "The last activity (brainstorming poster) was very fun and engaging. Also learnt some key leadership skills."
We are very grateful to Unloc for supporting our Year 10 students develop leadership skills.
