In April, Springfield pupils from all year groups attended an after-school celebration of Portsmouth being the 'UK City of Pride' for 2025. The trip was open to any pupil interested in inclusion. The event started with pizza and a chance to socialise with pupils from The Portsmouth Grammar School and Castle View Academy. We then heard a talk from a member of staff from Castle View about the range of experiences of growing up in Portsmouth whilst identifying as LGBTQ+. Pupils then very much enjoyed designing their own t shirts and badges, as well as being able to meet young people from other schools. 

We would like to thank The Portsmouth Grammar School for hosting the event, for very generously providing pizza and a free book for all who took part, and for giving Springfield pupils this opportunity to be creative whilst celebrating our diverse community.
