On Tuesday, 18 March the cast of our recent production Sister Act Jr. were very pleased and excited to be performing a selection of items from the show at a concert at Portsmouth Guildhall. The programme also included pupils singing three songs in a large massed choir, giving them another valuable musical performing experience.

The event, ‘Soundsational 2025’, was organised by the Portsmouth Music Hub and featured music making by pupils from several local schools and colleges, so pupils were treated to hearing some entertaining acts by other groups and acts. 

Springfield pupils demonstrated professionalism and confidence in their acting and singing on the larger Guildhall stage, attending a sound check and rehearsals during the day, and giving an amazing performance to treat the audience at the evening concert.

'Soundsational was amazing. It boosted my confidence to another level. It was so fun to perform on the Guildhall stage and see the backstage areas.' (Elizabeth)

Soundsational was a great experience to showcase our talent as a school. It was fun filled and I had a blast and joining the mass choir at the end was brilliant. As we got to join in with different schools and see an array of talent from all over Portsmouth. (Emma)

'I really enjoyed Soundsational because it was just a nice place to be and it was really fun to perform and make lots of memories along the way.' (Noah)

'I really enjoyed performing at the guildhall as it was exciting and was such an honor. I really hope to do it again next year!' (Eleanor)

'Soundsational gave me one last chance to perform Sister Act again and it was amazing to do it with the cast one more time.' (Favour)

'Soundsational was an inviting experience that was a pleasure to take part in. I got to have fun with my friends performing and singing to my family. I would definitely do it again!' (Adam)

Soundsational was an amazing experience that I hope to do again next year, especially since I got to relive the magic of sister act! (Hanna)

Drama is a part of my life and to perform on the Guildhall stage was just so special! (Jess)

It was such a fun experience to not only perform a variety of songs from Sister Act but to watch other schools showcase their work and songs.  Everyone was so supportive and it is a great show to be involved in. (Beatrice)

It was an amazing experience and it is a great opportunity to show our talents and represent Springfield. I enjoyed performing at the Guildhall as it was a chance to perform on the big stage under the spotlights. I loved revisiting this year's performance of Sister Act Jr. It was lovely to perform with the cast again as they are a great bunch of people who were supportive and welcoming. It also enjoyed the group choir singing at the end of the performance and they were the best songs. (Betty)
