The girls' football team played in the Hampshire Cup Semi-Final against Portchester School on 27 February. Having never played the team before, the girls stuck to their usual formation and looked to score an early goal. A free kick from Ava-Grace Mo (8E), thirty yards out, was beautifully struck over the keeper and into the top netting to put Springfield 1-0 up. Shortly after, Jadeyn Hodge (9L) picked up the ball just outside the goal mouth and struck hard and low to make it 2-0. Ava Lunn (9P) extended the lead to 3-0 before the opposition pulled one back to make it 3-1. But Springfield weren't finished and Molly Heazelton (8S) scored to make it 4-1. Eleanor Donachie (9N) sealed the deal with a fantastic effort to make it 5-1! Excellent team work all round in a very physical game from the opposition. Congratulations to the team for making it to the semi-final, and reaching the final for the second year in a row! We came so close last year with a 5-4 defeat, but this year, we're coming for that win!
