This week 7L had the opportunity to create colourful fruit salads during their Design and Technology lesson. Students learned the importance of consuming a variety of fruits, which are rich in essential vitamins and minerals reinforcing the concept of a balanced diet. They became familiar with the nutritional benefits of different fruits, which encourages them to make healthier food choices. Students also used basic culinary techniques such as washing, peeling, chopping, and mixing ingredients, which are foundational for more complex food preparation tasks. Emphasis on proper hygiene and safety practices, such as washing hands and using knives safely, is crucial for cultivating responsible habits. By engaging in this hands-on learning experience, students gained insights into healthy living, practical skills, and personal development that will serve them well in the future.
