On Tuesday, 28 January 45 Year 8 students visited the Living Rainforest in Newbury. In lessons, Year 8 have been working through the 'pole to pole' topic looking at various biomes of the world. Students will be completing an assessment this half term on the effects of deforestation, so the trip allowed students to gain further insight into this. At the Living Rainforest, we had a guided tour with an expert who explained about the sustainable futures we require for the survival of the rainforest, and groups also had time for photographs and looking at the plants and animals who live in the rainforest. Students were most excited to see the usually illusive sloth Cinnamon, happily hanging around for some great photo opportunities.
