On Monday, 27 January, Year 10 students participating in Unloc's Accelerate programme completed the challenge with sessions themed around Experience, E-curriculum and Exercise. The afternoon began with an employer encounter with Josh Robinson, founder of the management and events company LMSUK, who shared his journey into entrepreneurship and was candid about the need to learn from early business failures. Pupils then took on their own challenge of devising a brand aimed at boosting the wellbeing of young people, honing their presentation skills in the process. We are grateful to Unloc for providing this opportunity, which culminates in the pupils involved being invited to a certificate presentation, tour and pizza party at City of Portsmouth College's Highbury Campus. This unique and exciting new programme was designed in a partnership between Unloc and The City of Portsmouth College to explore young people’s aspirations, develop their employability and enterprise skills and explore college life through a series of fun, interactive workshops. Each workshop focused on one of the E6 principles, an initiative set up by the college to offer enrichment opportunities for students to prepare for the working world.
