On Friday, 6 December, Year 10 Travel and Tourism students visited Gunwharf to look into the facilities aimed at tourists. We travelled by train and looked at 'the Hard' as a transport hub before conducting questionnaires, footfall surveys and land use maps within Gunwharf. Students will be following up by analysing their data in lessons, thinking about why the area is a busy 'honeypot site'.

This visit not only enhances students' academic skills but also supports personal growth. It encourages them to:

  • Develop Critical Thinking: By analysing real-world data and considering multiple perspectives on tourism impact.
  • Enhance Teamwork: Collaborating with peers during fieldwork activities promotes teamwork and communication skills.
  • Boost Confidence: Engaging with the public and presenting findings builds confidence and public speaking abilities.

Overall, the visit to a Gunwharf provided students with an enriching educational experience that bridges theoretical knowledge and practical application.
