Year 7 students have showcased their creativity and historical knowledge this term by producing outstanding Future Wall and Motte and Bailey Castle models as part of their History homework. Students have produced an impressive array of thoughtful and detailed designs which have demonstrated creativity and technical skill. We were particularly impressed with the first ever crocheted castle design!
The Future Walls covered a wide range of interesting historical topics from the history of the NHS to the history of transport. Teachers praised students for their artistic efforts and ability to explain the purpose and structure of early castles during their Motte and Bailey project.
Project based homeworks are a fun and effective way for students to engage with history, which our Year 7 students have fully embraced. Making models allows students to explore materials and designs, encourages creatvity, problem solving, spatial awareness and critical thinking. Congratulations to all the Year 7 pupils for their excellent efforts!
