Springfield students continue to cultivate a passion for science during our Period 6 Science Club. On 3 December 2024 students created their own bubbles and experimented with the different shapes they could make. The biggest challenge was seeing with how large the bubbles could get – the largest one was a human sized bubble. Science Club takes place on Tuesdays after school in A13 and is currently available for Year 7 and 8 students.
Creating bubbles may seem like a simple and playful activity (which is was) but it also offers numerous educational and developmental benefits including grasping fundamental scientific concepts such as surface tension, air pressure and the properties of gasses as well as encouraging students' creativity and experimentation.
