The Year 9 GCSE Music students took part in their first visiting composer workshop on Wednesday, 6 November 2024 linked to their 'We Compose' project.  They have been commissioned to compose a piece of music for a string quartet, drawing upon stylistic features from a variety of classical and modern repertoire.  We welcomed Duncan Chapman, an experienced composer, who talked about ways to create a successful composition, in an informative session.

This type of engagement brings a wealth of benefits that can inspire, educate, and motivate students as they explore the world of music composition.  This allows them to gain real-world insights into the music industry. This was incredibly inspiring, as students saw firsthand how passion and dedication can lead to a fulfilling career.
