On Wednesday, 16 October students enjoyed taking part in the first Textiles Club of this term run by Mrs Padley, Teacher of Design and Technology.  They made some colourful thread bracelets and learned new skills such as mastering essential knots creating a variety of patterns.  Students personalised their bracelets with a selection of different colours.

Taking part in Textiles Club offers numerous benefits for students, both creatively and practically. It serves as a creative outlet where students can explore various textile arts allowing them to express their individuality.  Additionally, it fosters problem-solving skills and encourages collaboration, enhancing communication skills and building community. Textiles Club can also be a great way to unwind after a busy day at school,  providing a meditative break from academic pressures and promoting mental well-being! Students are able to create tangible products, instilling a sense of accomplishment and pride.

The next club takes place in C15 on Wednesday, 6 November when students will be making a makeup bag. This club is currently open for Year 8 students.
