It is great to see our girls' football team growing as we welcome the new Year 7 pupils to Springfield School. The girls' football club has had excellent success in previous years including winning both Portsmouth Cup finals for their respective age categories. This year the girls' football team hopes to continue the success in the Portsmouth Cups, Hampshire Cups and Under 16 National Cup so we are always looking for more players to broaden our team.
Participating in this club offers numerous benefits that extend beyond the physical realm. As well as promoting physical health through regular exercise, it enhances cardiovascular fitness, muscle strength, and coordination. Being part of a team encourages a sense of community and belonging, providing a supportive environment where girls can build lasting friendships and develop social skills. On top of all this it also boosts mental health by reducing stress and improving self-esteem and confidence!
Girls' football club runs every Wednesday after-school so please come along and try something new or develop your skills further. We look forward to seeing the team grow!
