The Drama Department welcomed Gav from Vamos Theatre Company into school to work with two groups of students on Tuesday, 16 July. Vamos are the UK's leading mask theatre company. The students played games that helped to highlight and develop the very particular skills needed to perform in a full face mask, which is a very different way of performing than they are used to. The students were able to explore ways in which they could develop character and communicate with an audience while wearing the masks.  The workshop challenged the students to find physical and visual ways of communicating which was invaluable to stretch and challenge their performance skills.  All the students had the opportunity to create characters in mask within scenarios such as being in an exam and giving a gift. They were full of energy and enthusiasm and created some really funny moments within their performances.
