Miss Wardrop's German 7D class have been making Nikolaus-Schachteln (Santa's box) models today. This is to celebrate 'der Nikolaustag' which is celebrated on 6 December. German children leave their shoes/boots outside their door on the evening of 5 December. If they have been 'good', their shoe/sock is filled with chocolates, oranges, nuts, apples, sweets etc. But if they haven't been so good, children receive a lump of coal from 'Sankt Nikolaus'.
