The British Army have asked us to share the following event with the school community:
"Event to Celebrate the Royal Logistic Corps 30th Birthday on 1st June 2023 in Worthy Down."
"The afternoon will include a Military Village highlighting how our soldiers apply Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in their roles. A number of the Corps’ technical trades will be present to provide engaging and informative stands including Ammunition Technicians showcasing the safe disposal of WWII bombs and Air Despatchers displaying future Virtual Reality technology.
STEM / Open Day/ Party in the Park. This will take place at Worthy Down Barracks and start at 1 pm. It is open to the general public, and is on a ticket (free) basis (QR code should be scanned for this). There will be food & drink available on sale, military displays, a Military STEM village (please see leaflet below), bands, a parachute display team etc. It will culminate with a firework display at approx. 22:00 hrs. A free park and ride will operate between Barton Stacey and Worthy Down on a continuous loop from 1 pm. There is also a free bus service running from the centre of Winchester (the Broadway) to Worthy Down."
