This week two groups of Year 8 pupils enjoyed a Geography trip to the Sustainability Centre in East Meon. The trips, which took place on Tuesday 20th February and Thursday 22nd February, gave pupils the opportunity to experience a day at the Sustainability Centre's stunning 55 acre woodland site and get involved in sustainability in action. The pupils engaged in exciting hands on activities including looking at renewable energy and water treatment sustainability in building & biomimicry design food, farming & permaculture woodland management, forest skills & eco art team building. The Sustainability Centre is an independent learning and study centre, it is a beacon for sustainability and an award-winning social enterprise charity in the heart of Hampshire's South Downs. With a holistic, practical and creative approach to education the Sustainability Centre explores how pupils can make greener, healthier and more ethical choices.
