Our Year 9 pupils had the fantastic opportunity of participating in the Portsmouth College Enterprise Academy Roadshow today with thanks to Unloc Limited, some of our Governors and local business volunteers. Pupils worked together in groups to plan, design and build a prototype of a new tower to go next to the Spinnaker Tower, with different functions. They had a budget of £35 million, created effective marketing campaigns and also planned a sixty second 'Dragons Den' style pitch. The three top teams were then picked to present their proposals to our panel of 'dragons' (Springfield Chair of Governors - Alan Cufley, Governor - Chris Batstone, Alison Slater from IBM and Rob Pilch from Queensbury Shelters). Pupils produced some great towers and kept their nerves in check whilst presenting to the 'dragons'. Thanks to Portsmouth College, Unloc and of course our 'formidable dragons' for a great day!
