'There is a sense of pride in the quality of learning in the school from staff and from pupils'

Good and Improving

Springfield hosts an open evening for prospective students and their families during late September or October every year. In addition, the school runs three open mornings during which parents can see the school ‘in action’.

Open evening 2017 - Thursday 5th October 2017 from 6pm to 8pm

Open mornings 2017 - Tuesday 10th October 2017, Wednesday 11th October 2017 and Thursday 12th October 2017 from 10.35am to 11.15am

Admission to the school is managed by the Admissions Service of Portsmouth City Council, which is required to take part in a cross-border co-ordinated scheme for main round admissions. This allows parents to complete one application form from their home local authority, regardless of the school and the area in which they wish to apply for a place. This is known as a ‘Common Application Form’.

Please contact the Admissions Service directly for information regarding applying for a place at Springfield.

Portsmouth operates an ‘Equal Preference’ admissions scheme in line with government requirements. If the school is oversubscribed, applications will be considered first according to the following priorities in the order set out below:

1. Children who are or have been looked after by a local authority.

2. Children or families who have a significant medical, physical, psychological or social need.

3. Children living within the school’s designated catchment area.

If the school cannot admit all applications from the catchment area, priorities (as defined in the Portsmouth City Council Admissions Policy) will be used.
